City Spring clean-up

The City of Thayer has designated April 17th – 21st as the City Spring clean- up week. Items the City will pick up are furniture, mattresses, carpet, shingles, and scrap metal. Items that the City will not pick up are tires, domestic garbage, wood, brush, liquid waste such as paint, oil, chemicals, pesticides, other non-solid waste products, and batteries.

The city will pick up a few things on Monday April 17th but designated days are as follows. On Tuesday and Wednesday April 18th and 19th the city will pick up everything on the north side of Main Street, plus Lake Shore Estates. On Thursday and Friday April 20th and 21st we will pick up everything on the south side of Main Street. The city will pick up nothing after Friday the 22nd at 3p.m. Chanute Landfill will be open on Saturday April 22nd if anyone still has things to dispose of.
